May 16, 2021, Today's devotional.
In 2017, I lost a great friend to colon cancer,
he was only 48. The same age I am now. Many knew him in the recording industry
under the moniker of, "Combat Jack", his real name was Reggie Ossé.
Reggie started in the recording industry as a
successful attorney and along the way lost his passion and decided to do a
total career shift within the industry to become an interviewer of those who
created music. He was a pioneer in the podcast arena before people ventured
into that lane the way they are now. His show was called, " The Combat
Jack Show".
At the end of his shows, he would always say,
"Internets, you know what time it is: Dream them dreams then man-up and
live them dreams, because a life without dreams is black and white, and the
universe flows in technicolor and surround-sound. Blaow!”
God is colorful.
Jehovah-God literally thought us and then spoke us
into existence. I have a hard time believing that he just woke up one day and
said, "Sky!"
I think Abba, dreamed of this world. Dreamed of
the people within it; scripture tells me of various patriarchs and prophets
that had dreams. So, I believe I can safely say, that our Jehovah dreamed too!
And his fantastic imagination is what got us all here.
God is in the details. He is in every minute area
of our life.
Sometimes I have found myself very rigid, and
black and white about life when it required flexibility and creativity.
Let the world know you are here, get busy living
and creating your legacy! Reggie had no idea he would pass of colon cancer at
48 in 2017 but he sure left his mark on this earth. I miss him greatly!!
In honor of my friend, Reggie, how are you living
life in technicolor and surround sound?
