I do a lot of thinking sometimes too much. I have come to understand that society measures the worth of a woman by whether she is married or in a relationship.👰🏽‍♀️

Subliminally we get messages from social media, television, music, and print media that suggest the value and worth of a woman is higher/value directly connected to her relationship status. It does not matter the characteristics of the man (Godly, good, bad, etc) just the fact she is connected to a man.👨🏽

Where on the contrary if a man is single - his value is higher and actually he is deemed to be a catch no matter what is attached to his past or present life status.🤑

It is a sad thought because it indirectly forces single women no matter the age to chase the proverbial goal of being in a relationship or marriage chalice. 🏃🏽‍♀️

A woman can scale the financial walls be a millionaire/billionaire and she is still viewed as lacking because she is not married. Example: Oprah Winfrey, Queen Latifah, Anita Hill, Diane Keaton, Coco Chanel, etc. And don't let her be economically challenged because then the statement is she didn't use what she had to get what she wanted so obviously she really isn't worth anything at all.🤷🏽‍♀️

If you are not married you are regulated to being difficult, mental health issues, or lesbian. And if she is lesbian, she is dismissed as she chose that lifestyle because a MAN did not want her, which leads back to the perspective that the value of a woman is attached to a man.🤦🏽‍♀️

Marriage, in my belief, is a very serious covenant that many do not take as seriously as they should hence the very high levels of divorce. Within marriage, your time and resources are shifted to be inclusive of your partner. Many people will tell you that it is a major act of integration to be able to further and continue their personal goals once they get married.❤️

Independent women do not have to imply women who are bitter, boisterous, disrespectful, loud, profane, or vulgar. It just means she is doing the exact same thing an Independent man is doing. 👈🏽👌🏽👏🏽

We never hear the phrase, "Independent man". 💁🏽

Also, check on your single ladies - just because they are on their grind does not mean they do not appreciate someone showing some wholesome concern and love. We must stop always associating sex to love. Single women are the best defensive players in any game, why? Because we are constantly having to defend we do not want another woman's man, LOL!! We have to play defense from married women, married men, cats, dogs, and anything in between, LOL 😂

On today, with so many young women graduating from high school/college, so many single adult women graduating from college and single adult women in general just on their grind for success. Appreciate the single ladies in your life. Respect their hustle. 🎉🤗🙌🏽

And let's change the norm that a woman's value is attached to a man. Let her value be HER value because it IS so! 💅🏽

She is valuable and worthy - just because she IS and that in itself is good enough.🙌🏽
